Why We Built Brivent: Building Technology Around Real Problems

We kept seeing the same thing. People had problems they were trying to solve, businesses trying to grow, communities trying to build — and somewhere in the middle, technology that could help, if it were the right technology. Having tools available isn't the same as having the tools you actually need.

That's where Brivent came from.

Start with something real

Take Servra. We noticed restaurants were already using WhatsApp to talk to customers and take orders. The customers were already there. The restaurants were already there. The conversation was already happening — it was just slow.

So we didn't build another food delivery app. We asked what would happen if the conversation restaurants already had just got smarter. That question became Servra, our AI Order Agent for food vendors.

That's how we approach most things at Brivent: find the friction in something people are already doing, then figure out where technology can actually remove it — not add to it.

We don't build everything

Before we build, we ask what the problem actually is, who's living with it, how they're solving it now, and why that isn't good enough. Sometimes the answer is a product. Sometimes it's a fix for an existing business. Sometimes we decide not to build anything at all, and we're fine with that. We're not trying to have the most products. We're trying to build things that matter.

We're building from Nigeria, and that shapes everything

We see businesses running on WhatsApp because it's their storefront, customer service desk, and sales channel all at once. We see young people trying to get into tech without always having a way in. We see businesses that want to go digital without adopting another complicated platform they don't have time to learn.

These aren't case studies to us. They're what's around us, every day — and they're why Servra looks the way it does, why the products we build tend to meet people where they already are instead of asking them to change how they work.

We're still early

Brivent isn't a finished thing. We'll build things that don't work, change our minds, launch something and find out people wanted something else entirely. Every product and every conversation with a customer teaches us something we didn't know going in.

We're not pretending to have it figured out. We're getting better at building.

What's next

Servra is live and we're onboarding restaurants now. Kinnok and BIIT are next. If you're building something in Nigeria and technology is the thing standing between you and moving faster — that's the kind of problem we want to hear about.
